Hello World

Hello, World!

Welcome to my website, and welcome to my blog.

I’m really excited about finally launching this website as of today.

This isn’t my first time launching a website. I launched my very first website (www.cyberoffensive.org — a fictitious marketplace for black hat hacking products/services) six years ago as a way to get my hands dirty with some code for the first time. Using HTML, CSS, and jQuery, I built that first website entirely from scratch using my own custom code. It was such a fun and rewarding experience that sparked my passion for working with technology.

That is such a long time ago, now that I think about it. To be honest, the accelerating speed at which time flies as I get older is scary, but the only thing I can do about it is accelerate the speed of my own progression and growth in order to keep up. This website will document that continuous growth of mine.

At the end of this semester, I’ll be the first person in my immediate family to graduate from college (B.S. Computer Science). Since I’ll be graduating soon, I have to start applying for jobs now. That’s why I began construction of this website earlier this year in the middle of February — as a way to stand out when applying for jobs. However, even after I land a job, I’ll be continuously updating this website to showcase all of the exciting projects I’ll be working on throughout my career.

Outside of academia, I love doing hands-on projects because I strongly believe in going above and beyond by learning outside the confines of the academic classroom. As a life-long learner, I will retain this mentality and continue learning outside the confines of my little cubicle once I join the corporate world. This means I’ll always be working on some kind of personal project outside of work, because learning is a life long journey for me.

My current project involves setting up a penetration testing lab that will allow me to get some hands-on experience with attacking Active Directory networks, web applications, and CTF (capture the flag) machines. Within this lab, I also plan on conducting buffer overflow exploit development. After completing this project, my next project will involve using the Flipper Zero, a portable multi-tool device designed for pentesters and tech enthusiasts, to dive deeper into pentesting. I have not yet decided what my third project will be, but ever since the recent explosion in popularity of large language models like GPT-4, I have been wanting to build something with it.

My career as an ethical hacker is just getting started, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me. It’s quite a privilege that I will be able to do what I love and get paid for it. I can’t wait to look back at this website 50 years from now to see everything that I’ve accomplished. I may not live long enough to have my consciousness uploaded to the cloud for an eternal life, but I’ll make sure my descendants keep this website up and running until the end of humanity, and that’s as close to immortality as anyone can currently get.
